AKC Star Puppy Program
Do you have a new puppy, and want to give him/her the best start you can? Then this Program is for you! S.T.A.R. stands for Socialization, Training, Activity, and Responsibility, and all of these elements will be covered in this program. This class is primarily for dogs under the age of 6 months, and will cover topics of socialization, potty training, prevention of destructive behaviors, crate training, how to deal with stress and anxiety in our dog, and introduction to obedience behaviors through motivational training. Obedience skills covered are sit, down, stay, place, loose leash heeling, greeting skills, and come. All puppies must be up to date on vaccines.
7 Week Course – $250
Hero K9 Academy’s Better Pet Program – Basic Obedience
This class is perfect to introduce your dog to basic commands such as sit, sit-stay, down, down-stay, loose leash heeling, recall, place, greeting skills and leave it. Management and responsible dog ownership will also be covered in this class. This is a fun class with the goal of giving a safe and stress free environment for you and your pet to learn in. We will show you how to be successful in reading your dog and how to begin training in a motivational and fun way. All dogs must be up to date on vaccines.
6 Week Course – $200
Hero K9 Academy’s CGC Prep and Evaluation – Intermediate Obedience title
Do you want your dog to be a good citizen in your community? Then this class is for you! We will take the basic obedience skill sets and make them functional in our day-to-day life, whether that be in our home, in a public setting, or in the presence of other dogs. This class is designed to prepare your dog for their Canine Good Citizen Evaluation through the AKC. By the end of the 7-week course, we will hold testing, free of charge, for your dog to gain his/her CGC title. All dogs must be up to date on vaccines.

Hero K9 Academy’s AKC Community Canine Prep and Evaluation (CGCA) – Advanced Obedience
Want to take your dog’s obedience to the next level after their CGC? We’ve got you covered with our Advanced Obedience class and AKC Community Canine (CGCA) Prep! AKC Community Canine is an advanced version of the CGC. This test is performed in real life situations and is focused on refining your dog’s obedience skill sets. We will practice obedience skills in real life environments and work to proof your dog’s skills to be functional in everyday life. At the end of the 7 weeks, there will be CGCA testing available free of charge. Prerequisite for this class is the CGC title. All dogs must be up to date on vaccines.

Bring Peace to Your Pup! – Fear Rehabilitation Class
The main goal of this course is to help rehabilitate dogs, so they can be comfortable in their environment. Areas that will be discussed includes reading signs of discomfort and stress in our canine friends as well as ways we can begin the rehabilitation process to enhance quality of life. This class will be a dog free lecture setting and will be an interactive group learning experience. Homework will be given to attendants weekly, and students can record their progress (if they choose) to be evaluated. This would be a duration of 5 weeks with once per week meetings.
